What does Vastu say about the entrance of a House ?
Vastu says it is not wise to keep garbage near the entrance of a house. And that the entrance should not be blocked by big trees.

A lot of sources claim that the south is the best direction for the entrance door. Vastu Shastra also mention that the place of the door can differ according to astrological signs (rasis) of the inhabitants. According to Samarangana Sutradhara a door entrance should never be at the center of a wall. The main door should not lead to main living area of the house. The door should not make an annoying sound while closing or opening.
The best place for the door is to devide the wall in 9 parts and put the door in the 4th part. (starting counting from the east.)
Since pradakshina (circumambulation around a temple or shrine) is done clockwise doors should always open clockwise too. Meaning opening towards you while standing inside the room.
